Abstract: The temperature dependence of exchange biased planar Hall effect sensors is investigated between T = −10 and 70 °C. It is shown that a single domain model describes the system well and that the temperature coefficient of the low-field sensitivity at T = 25 °C is 0.32%/°C. A procedure for temperature correction by use of a reference sensor is demonstrated. Consequences for magnetic biosensing are exemplified with calculations on M-280 Dynabeads®.
