What is the nature of the singularity of a fluid surface when a drop or a bubble pinches off? How can a fish direct the vortices shed from its body accurately enough to generate its rapid and flexible motion? These questions are examples of the fluid mechanics problems that I am currently addressing in my laboratory using table top experiments and theoretical analysis. My main research goals are to discover and explore new flow phenomena and to answer fundamental questions about fluid flows in nature and technology.
